Healing Nature
Spending time in Nature can bring great joy to your soul. Just a few minutes to enjoy the outdoors can open a whole new outlook for you. The earthly and natural connection can reset your being.
In our family, we love to do outdoors things: camping, fishing, just walking through trails and connecting with nature. Our children enjoy these things as well. Even just playing outside can help your little one rest better and find emotional balance.
20 minutes a day outside also helps you to get much needed vitamins that come from the Sun. Otherwise, these vitamins have to be supplemented with vitamins to keep balance. Not having these vitamins can leave you feeling tired, emotional, stressed and just out of sorts.
Take the time to go outdoors and connect with nature every chance you get. Your mind and body will greatly appreciate it.
Until next time…

DIY Cold Remedy
Winter is in full effect and with Winter comes cold and flu season. When it hits you, it hits you hard. A while back I came up with my own DIY Cold Remedy that has worked well for all of my family.
The ingredients are simple things that most of us have on hand right in our kitchens. Many natural ingredients work as antibiotics. These are great boosts to our immune system as well.
Without further ado, here is my DIY Cold Remedy:
Mix into a shot glass or similar size glass of your choice:
1/2 shot glass of Apple Cider Vinegar
2 tsps of Honey
1/8 tsp of Oregano
1/8 tsp of Onion Powder
1/8 tsp of Garlic Powder
Mix with a spoon and drink.
I take this 2-3 times a day, usually Morning, Mid-day and Nightly before bed.
It’s been a savior for me when I was feeling terrible. I’ve even used this recipe with my children.
Until next time…

Ancestry
I love history. It’s one of my favorite subjects and it always has been. I just love to learn about the past: where we come from and who we are.
Genealogy became a passion of mine even before I was out of high school. I remember filling out the Family Bible will all the names of my grandparents, my parents, their siblings, my siblings and so on. The fact we came from someone and somewhere was important to me.
In the early 2000’s, I began to research more and compiled names using software that I purchased. I added in photos and really enjoyed the process of learning more about my family.
Here almost 20 years later, I still have a passion for Ancestry. Now I enjoy going to the towns where family lived, seeing their graves, connecting with those who’s lives created our own. I recently resubscribed to an online website where I’ve been learning more about our family and their lives which I’ve been sharing with others. Some of it is not the happiest of truths but all of it is important information about the people who came before me and I enjoy gathering their stories and sharing them.
My daughter shares this interest, and one day I look forward to passing this info on to her for her to continue to share with our family. The stories do not die with our loved ones. Their memories live on by sharing them with future generations.
Until next time…

2019 Word of the Year: Path
God yells. There’s no doubt in my mind about that. And it was apparent to me as I sat and reflected on what my 2019 Word of the Year was supposed to be for this year.
Path.
Simple as that. I could hear it as clearly as a person speaking directly to me. This year’s word is Path. God was yelling that out clearly.
What does it mean? Honestly, I’m still figuring it out but it was apparent to me from the first day of this year that this year was going to be filled with multiple paths which we will be taking. By the end, I hope to have reached our destination.
And the word, Path isn’t just for me alone. It’s for my whole family. Our whole family is about to take an adventure of a lifetime. We are going to do things over this next year that we never expected and go places that we never thought we’d see, or in some cases return to.
The details of all of this will reveal itself as we move forward. We will be letting go of a lot and moving forward. We will be leaving behind the long overdue to restart again. And great opportunities will arrive from this journey we are heading out on.
But for now, the steps on our Path are short and small. They lead to a greater future and a happier place. And I, for one, can hardly wait to get there!
Until next time…
