Busy Again These Days {Thoughts From Me}

November 21, 2013 by Dana

I have taken a few days away from writing blog posts, except for reviews, and I’ve been concentrating on my photography for the past week.  I’ve also been working on our family’s tree and doing some much needed housework.  The mix of everything has definitely been keeping me busy.

The photos are coming out great and I have several shoots lined up in the next few weeks which will be keeping me very busy now the Crew year has ended.  It’s been great learning new things, editing and seeing images “pop” in ways I never expected.  I’m finding that I am enjoying taking pictures again.

The family tree has also been fun.  I’ve learned so much about our ancestors that I never expected.  It’s been interesting to learn where we came from and telling the kids stories I’ve come across about our various ancestors.  They’ve enjoyed the history and the family relations as much as I have.

I am excited for all the new ventures in our lives and the Holidays that are coming up as well.  It’s a busy but fun life.  It’s fulfilling and I find that I’m once again Luv’N Lambert Life.

Busy Week for Us {Thoughts From Me}

June 27, 2013 by Dana

Don’t know if you noticed but I gave the blog a makeover last week.  The green was up for a long time and I was extremely tired of the look, so I created a new look using blue.  Not sure how long I’ll leave this one up but I like the site a lot better now.

This has been a busy week for us.

Monday I completed a review item that took me all day to create.

Tuesday we took a trip to Charleston for Laycie’s neuro appointment and we had a field trip day.  We left Jackson with Grami and the big kids, Grandma and I went to visit Charles Town Landing and the Angel Oak.  It was a lot of fun and there is a blog post coming about that day very soon.

Wednesday, I played rest with Laycie who was exhausted from Tuesday and also played catch up with wedding photos that I have not had a chance to work on since Laycie’s seizure two weeks ago.

Today, I am working on catching up things that are behind in the house: laundry, dishes, cleaning in general.

Tomorrow night I have a wedding rehearsal to attend and photograph and Saturday is the big wedding event which I’m totally excited to be photographing for the beautiful bride and groom.  So tomorrow will be spent prepping by cleaning the camera lenses, charging the battery, making sure memory cards are clear and packing up all the things I need for the event.

This week has been full of excitement but fulfilling in life.  As soon as it slows back down, I will play catch up with our blog posts.

My 2010 and 2011 Resolutions

December 27, 2010 by Dana

About a year ago I made my resolutions for this year.  There were quite a few of them.  Some I completed, or at least worked on and some I never managed to get off the ground.  All were well worth the efforts.

This year I spent changing my own life, who I am and how I see things in the world.  I worked on forgiving others, expanding my own mind, becoming closer to God, building my friendships into even stronger ones, and supporting others that God placed in front of me.  I’m proud of the changes in my life.  I still have a lot to learn but every day I’m happier with who I am.

I also spent the year getting my life and my house organized.  I’m loving it!  An organized life is soo much better.  Having things in their place is the best.  Organization is something I have struggled with my entire life and having accomplished getting closer to my goal is a wonderful feeling.

For the coming year, I would like to complete my organizing efforts by decluttering, storing things better, and finshing what I’ve already started for storing inside the house.  I’d like to get the kids rooms organized and sort toys into bins that can be swapped out for easier living.  By the end of 2011, I hope to have our lives completely organized and done with.

I would also like to create a healthier lifestyle for us as a family.  I plan to work out almost daily with my Wii Fit and also create a physical routine for the kids.  I want to add more veggies and healthier foods into our diet.  I also want to cut back on Pepsi for myself.  I look forward to feeling better inside and out with these changes and encouraging these good habits in my children too.

This year I will be handing a lot more chores over to the kids, using Managers of Their Chores to help guide me.  I feel the hard work will be good for their self-esteem and also for their unity in our family.  Plus these chores will be much needed life-skills for them one day.

I would like to begin our science (Botany) by February so that during the spring we can make a garden for them to reap and sow.  The kids will really enjoy that I know.

I look forward to a wonderful year filled with much needed changes in ourselves and much joy with one another this year.

Happy New Year to each of you!

Update on us {Christmas Prep 2010}

December 20, 2010 by Dana

Life has been pretty busy lately.

The kids spent a week with their Aunt and cousin at the beginning of the month for their cousin’s birthday.  They had a blast and got pretty spoiled with love while they were there.

Last week my best guy friend came to stay and help me clean out house.  He was a HUGE help.  The usual chaos is now tame again.  It was super awesome to have someone get up with the kids, vacuum, dust, straighten and do the dishes before I managed to crawl my butt out of the bed every day.  My house feels so much calmer now that the chaos has diminished and I cannot wait to get what’s left completed so that it feels all the better!  I have to say a HUGE HUGE thanks to my buddy for being generous enough to take a week out of his life to help me out!  Thanks Bro!!

Now we are waiting for Mama to come (my Mom).  She’ll be here til January loving on the babies.  They are sooo excited too.  Everyday they ask when she will arrive.  Tomorrow night is the Big Day.  Emma was up late because she knows I talk to Mama late and she needed the reassurance that Mama would be coming to see her sweet self soon.  Now she’s thrilled and sound asleep ready for tomorrow to get here.

Today I finally put our tree together and layered it in lights.  1100 lights to be exact.  It’s a glowing beauty.  I prefer an artificial tree because it’s less mess to clean up when I put it away.  I prefer colored lights to white.  To me the candy like glow equals Christmas.  Can’t beat it!  Tomorrow I am doing some other decorating in the house and Tuesday we will decorate the tree with Mama’s help.  The kids are sooo looking forward to that!

We finished up the Christmas shopping yesterday too.  I had a few last minute items I ordered.  I’m hoping everything comes in on time.  Next year I hope to have everything done much earlier than this year.

The rest of the week will be a busy one, filled with family, baking, decorating, present wrapping and gifting.  It goes quickly by and can be extremely tiring but is so very worth it.  Three days after Christmas brings the JOY of my baby boy’s 10th birthday.  I can hardly believe he’s almost 10.  It seems like just yesterday that I delivered him so close to the day we celebrate Jesus’ own birth.

I’m praying everyone has a wonderful and blessed Christmas weekend.  I pray God blesses each of you and you have all the joy your heart wishes for this Christmas season.

Until next time…

Busy, Busy, Busy {Update November 15, 2010}

November 15, 2010 by Dana

I’ve been falling behind on my 30 day blog posts but that’s no surprise with me! LOL  Sometimes life gets so busy that I just don’t have time for all the writing I need to do, or much else for that matter.

This weekend brought a good amount of balanced cleaning and relaxing, along with a great visit with a friend.  My best guy friend came over to help me move some boxes into storage.  It was a great help, of which I’m very appreciative to him for.  Got some stuff up into the lofts of the storage building and some Christmas stuff where it can be accessed better.  Also had my kitchen cleaned, dishes washed up, laundry caught up, living room vacuumed, kitchen floor mopped, amoung other things.  I am truly, truly grateful to my friend for all of his help!

Now this week, I really need to go through several things.  I need to get the rest of the boxes out or put away and get ready for Christmas.  I need to go through the kids rooms and get rid of more stuff before they get new things to add into the mix.  I think decluttering their toys by half again would be the best idea.  It’s going to be a LOT of work but it’ll be worth it in the end.

I’ve been trying to read a lot lately too.  I have a TON of books to read this month and next.  Right now I’m reading Captivating by John and Stasi Eldredge.  This is a wonderful book.  Look for my review in the future.

Ok, now time to get busy and get it all done!  Later yall!

Busy Days

September 24, 2010 by Dana

I haven’t had much time to update our blog lately.  I’ve been working on a full home organizational makeover.  I’m hoping to have it all finished soon, if life will stop throwing stones in my path.

Thus far, I have cleaned out the kitchen and reorganized our communication area.  I’m using a menu plan for daily meals now.  I’ve gone through about 75% of our clothing, put some on Ebay and donated others, as well as putting away the items that Laycie will grow into.

To do on my list is to put the classroom back together, organizing the bookshelves, and going through all of the kids toys.  I also want to decorate for fall in the next week or so.

I’m extremely happy that I have a replacement usb cord for my camera so now I can take new pictures for both home and this blog.  It’s the little things that keep me happy.

I was sitting around thinking the past few days that I’d also like to get back into reviewing, just to give myself something to do for fun.

So that’s what’s going on with us now.  Hopefully, I’ll have some great future updates coming soon.
