Hatchy 7th Birthday, Jack

September 2, 2019 by Dana

Over the weekend, Jackson turned 7. He’s grown up so fast. I can hardly believe he’s already 7. Seems just yesterday, I was bringing my 8 pound baby boy home. Now he’s 4’1 and 50 some pounds of love.

Jackson really wanted a Hatchimals Birthday party. Of course the one thing I could not find locally but a trip to another area and we lucked up to find party stuff cheap! Momma likes cheap!

The Friday before his birthday brought about a last minute trip to the neuro for Jack, and we were able to stop by a local store while there to pick out his cake. He chose a whipped buttercream with yellow trim and balloons. It was a chocolate and white marble cake. So so good.

We decorated his cake with Hatchimal eggs to bring the theme to the cake. My sweet boy gave every one he loves one of those eggs for their gift at his party. He truly has a heart of gold!

At the beginning of the month, I lucked up and found some great deals on toys for Jack. He got several Playmobile playsets. (Let me forewarn you, those come with a TON of parts.) I also found some $2 sales on Jarassic Park dinosaurs, and Paw Patrol cars and pups. He loves them! He got a few other things for fun and a Imaginext Transformer that turns into a helicopter. He loves that thing!

He started his day proclaiming “Mom, I just want to be me for my birthday!” Long ninja hair left messy, a over sized comfy dino shirt and a big smile on his face. That’s completely my Jackson every day.

So Jack had a wonderful birthday and was surrounded with lots of love. He really enjoyed his day and had a Hatchy Hatchy Birthday!

Until next time…

When Momma Puts Her Own Health On Hold

August 12, 2019 by Dana

Being a busy busy Mom of 4 kids is hard. When those kids have multiple health issues, it’s even harder. And my kids always come first, which means their health needs also come first.

So I put off my own health. I didn’t take time for doctors appointments for myself. I only did the parts of my medical care that I had to.

Like most Mom’s, my own health came last until it was necessary for it to come first. And here I am currently overloaded with appointments for myself, for my children and for my husband as well. Every day, I’m adding in another appointment, most of them for me.

I have two procedures coming up with my OBGYN: a scope to check for the ongoing bleeding issues that I have had since 2016, and a hysterectomy.

Earlier in the month, I had a mammogram to check a lump my physician and I found in my right breast. The mammogram didn’t show anything where I originally thought the lump was at but it did show one further up in the tissue. I follow up with a General Surgeon this week to discuss the next steps.

Right now, I am just going day by day and allowing my physicians to help me decide the best care for my health. I’ve been very lucky to have great care thus far. All of the physicians have been truly wonderful and caring, answering my questions thoroughly and thoughtfully as we go.

I will update as we go but for now, this is where things are at.

Until next time…
