A Kingsbury Collection {Blogging For Books Review}

June 6, 2013 by Dana

If you love Karen Kingsbury, then you will love A Kingsbury Collection.  Three of Karen’s best novels combined into one over-sized novel.  This is a collection Karen’s fans surely won’t want to miss.

A Kingsbury Collection includes: Where Yesterday Lives, When Joy Came to Stay, and On Every Side.

Where Yesterday Lives tells the story of Pulitzer Prize winner, Ellen Barrett.  Lost in her faith, struggling in her marriage and missing the past, Ellen longs for long ago times.  Ellen returns home, after her father’s recent death to find changes she wasn’t expecting and a future God had planned, even though she had not.

When Joy Came to Stay shares the story of the Stovall’s.  Ben and Maggie have a life most people dream about.  What they don’t have is the one thing that only sweet Amanda Joy can provide.  This novel brings to life the faith of child who brings others closer to God in an unexpected way.

On Every Side, newscaster Faith Evans finds herself telling the story of an one-hundred-year-old statue of Jesus.  The statue stands in a small-town park.  Jordan Riley supports the belief that this statue is a violation of the separation of church and state and wants to see the statue removed.  Battle lines are drawn but can love overcome all?

As with all of Karen Kingsbury’s great novels, love and God bring others together, triumphing over all.  Karen’s books are sure to restore your faith and leave you wanting to read more.

A Kingsbury Collection is available for $19.99 in paperback form.

Jamie Carie’s Forgotten Castles Collection {Propeller Review}

June 20, 2012 by Dana

Jamie Carie’s
Forgotten Castles Collection
The Guardian Duke & The Forgiven Duke
Available in Paperback for $9.47
Hardback for $22.42
or
Kindle for $9.28

The Forgotten Castles Collection has quickly become one of my favorite book sets from Jamie Carie.  I love her writing style, the plot, thought and process the books take on.  The characters are amazing and Jamie draws the reader in with her magnificent descriptions and storyline.

The Guardian Duke is the first book of the series.  In it the reader is introduced to Gabriel, the Duke of St. Easton, a kind-hearted gentleman who is going through a strange hardship of his own.  Gabriel is asked to take guardianship of the beautiful, Lady Alexandria Featherstone, whose treasure-seeking parents have disappeared after their most recent adventure.  Upset at this request, Alexandria takes off on an adventure of her own, to find her lost parents, leaving Gabriel to follow her across England and Ireland only to lose sight of her at the end.

In The Forgiven Duke, the story continues with Gabriel following Alexandria across oceans to the very large and cold Iceland.  Always seemly one step ahead, Alexandria avoids Gabriel throughout most of the novel but he never gives up on his love and dedication to find her.  Throughout many trials, Gabriel finally manages to find her and bring her home to await the newest news of her parents life.
Book three, to be released later this year, will continue this love story and journey of faith, leading to the conclusion of the Forgotten Castles Series and hopefully the result of their search.  But for now these two books leave the reader wanting more, which will surely come with the conclusion of the set.

You can find The Guardian Duke and The Forgiven Duke online through Amazon.com or in your local bookstores.
