Math Rider {Crew Review}

February 10, 2012 by Dana

The Intelligent Math Facts Game
Have fun & build confidence!

Math Rider is a fun math facts game from Sharper Edge Pty. Ltd.  In this game children play as themselves,  traveling through the Land of Ray riding upon Shadow, their trusty stead.  As they travel, they pass through beautifully, digitally animated lands and answer up to four different levels of math facts in each of the main basic math categories: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

This game also allows more than one child to master concepts by allowing different logins for each.  My children really enjoyed practicing math facts with this game, especially my daughter who is currently in LOVE with horses and learning.  My son greatly enjoyed the quick answering of the math problems throughout the program.  You can register for a free trial of the game on the website.  You may also buy Math Rider on the website for the low price of $37 with a 30 day risk free guarantee.

A lot of Life Is Going On {Baby Announcement/Thoughts From Me}

February 1, 2012 by Dana

There are tons of new things happening around Luv’N Lambert Life.  We are extremely busy in the new year with life, laughter and love.  Doctors appointments have filled our weeks.  Expectancy fills our days.

We happily announce and patiently await the arrival of our newest little Luv due September 6, 2012.  Baby Lambert will be a joy to our days and lives.  Every one is excited to have a new little one to love and share with in the house again.

Morning sickness has been kicking my Momma butt.  I’m currently on medication to keep life manageable after suffering some serious effects this pregnancy.  The meds help and I’m extremely thankful.  I’m enjoying every moment of feeling this little bean grow in my tummy.  I’m still undecided if this will be our last baby but I’m leaning on the side of “yes”.  I feel more than 4 c-sections would be pushing the health risks a little too much but I am still praying over my decision in this.

My Emma has been in physical therapy for the past few weeks to correct her toe-walking issues.  She has an MRI on Monday to recheck for tethering of her spinal cord, after her last test was not performed correctly.  I am praying for positive results still.

My Laycie is also in therapy.  She will have her first OT and PT evals next Tuesday to help with her motor developement.  She is already in speech therapy to help her pronounce her words and sounds correctly.  It’s a bit too early to say if it is helping or not.  I suppose time will tell there.

My Bubba is just hanging out while all these girls do their stuff.  He’s enjoying some new games he got for Christmas.  He’s been watching a lot of fun and educational stuff on Netflix lately which always helps with school.

Soon taxes will come back and be spent on the “extra’s” we will use throughout the year: new camera for Momma, new printer for school, and hopefully new tvs for the kids. These are the hopes we have at least.  I’d also like to get passes to a few things like the State Parks and Zoo this year for the kids but we will see.  Always so much to do with so little time and money.

Well duty calls… until next time…

KinderBach {Crew Review}

January 30, 2012 by Dana

For this review, I was asked to view KinderBach at Home.  KinderBach is an at-home piano education curriculum for children.  It is available online, on iPad, or by CD and it is for children ages 3-7.

KinderBach provides six levels of 60 weeks in piano instruction for young children.  The videos are very entertaining.  Each lesson provides activities for your child to complete, leading up to a little over a years work of music for your child.

KinderBach also provides a similar music instruction program for schools available through their website.  You may purchase a one-day pass of KinderBach for $5.95, a month long pass for $19.99, or a year long subscription for $95.88.  KinderBach is also available per DVD/CD package starting at $40.45.  For limited time, KinderBach is offering a 40% off coupon available on their website.

My children did enjoy this program but not nearly as much as I was hoping.  For the musically inclined family this program would be absolutely perfect.  Such a fun and easy way to learn piano at home for the young and the old too!

KinderBach can be bought online through their website.  To read more reviews of this program, please visit the TOS Homeschool Review Crew blog!

*Disclaimer – The online version of this program was provided to the TOS Crew by KinderBach in exchange for an honest review of the product.

Maestro Classic Swan Lake {Crew Review}

January 13, 2012 by Dana

Maestro Classic’s The Story of Swan Lake is a beautiful cd tribute to one of the greatest classical tales written.  This wonderful cd quickly became a favorite in my house.  My 8 year old budding artist absolutely loved it and so did her fanciful 3 year old sister.

Not only is the classical ballet available on this cd but much more.  My children particularly enjoyed the bonus sing-a-long, as well as the Speed Metal Swan piece provided.  They loved dancing and playing along with the music.

Maestro Classic has many available classic ballets and more for your listening pleasure.  The CD’s are available from Amazon.com and iTunes for immediate download.  The Story of Swan Lake is $16.98 for CD and $9.98 for MP3 Download.  This product is recommend for ages 5+ and families.

***JANUARY SPECIAL: Order a Swan Lake CD or MP3 download, and Maestro Classics will automatically send you an additional free MP3 Swan Lake orchestral version!***

REAL Homeschool Spanish {Crew Review}

January 6, 2012 by Dana

REAL Homeschool Spanish is written by Dr. Karyn Williamson-Coria, a loving mother of three wonderful boys. The idea for this program began when she was unable to find time to teach her young boys foriegn language at home. Using a foriegn language curriculum left her feeling overwhelmed with preparation and educating her children. So she created REAL Homeschool Spanish.

REAL Homeschool Spanish teaches the parent along with the child. The program was built to provide education through conversation, instead of repeative skills. It was created to be simple in approach and method so as not to overwhelm families while learning a new language, resulting in better memorization and education in the language.

REAL Homeschool Spanish is created specifically for Homeschool families to use. The program was created for ages 5-13 in grades K-8th but would be great for anyone interested in learning foriegn language. Downloads for the program begin at $49.95 and the complete program in print form costs $99.95. You can purchase this curriculum directly from the website.

For more reviews of REAL Homeschool Spanish, please visit the TOS Homeschool Crew Blog.
