Cold Weather and Warm Hearts

December 3, 2018 by Dana

The weather has been really cold lately. Freezing temps have left us staying inside as much as possible. Cold rain with ice. The wind is bone-chilling.

Growing up in a coastal region, I’m not used to true coldness in the weather. Even in the Winter, wind is warm in the Coastal South. I’ve never experienced cold like this so it’s a huge adjustment to me and to my children as well.

Things I’m learning are that a good Winter coat is a must. Layers are also important to survive the weather. And snow boots with fuzzy socks definitely keep your feet warm.

I need to invest in hot chocolate because I sure drink enough to keep the chill out of my bones. Topped with marshmellows… it is the BEST!

Despite the cold weather, life is good. Christmas is on the way. The kids are all happy and well loved and we are enjoying our first anniversary of living in our home. I will truly miss this house when we move again. It’s the first real home we’ve had in a long time.

Our hearts are filled with warmth and love. Happiness is what makes life worth everything.

Until next time…
Dana
