I am exhausted. My brain is tired, my body is tired. I’m simply exhausted.
This week brings two reviews for the Crew and one for Celebrate Lit. They are great – please take a look.
This week also brought a one week follow-up for Emma’s surgery last week and her allergy shot pre-test today. Insurance wouldn’t pay for them to be done together so two separate visits had to be made. Yay for Emma and I!
Emma’s post-op visit went great. They removed her stents and suctioned her nose, clearing up most of the drainage she had. She’s had very little pain and has healed quite well. We return in two weeks to check her healing and see if everything is well inside the nasal passages.
Today, she had her allergy shot pre-test where they give her a small injection to see if she can handle the allergens. I now carry her Epi-pen in my purse since she has to keep it close by at all times. The pre-test went great and next week she gets a full injection. This will happen weekly for one year, then every two weeks the second year and each month on the third year, if all goes well. And if all goes well, hopefully by her third year she will no longer be allergic to these things. That will be wonderful!
Laycie has had a pretty rough week herself. She developed a rash. We have no idea as to what the cause may have been. It covered her sweet face, and behind her ear on the right side. I took her in to the doctor on Saturday who recommended that we try using eye cream and moisturizer until it went away. I did for 24 hours and then when it wasn’t clearing up, I switched to coconut oil and lavender essential oil. 2 days later and it’s almost completely gone! I love our oils! (Plant Therapy is GREAT and so are Jade Bloom oils!)
Next week is a trip to the Neuro for Emma to get set up to do botox and casting, which I’m requesting we don’t start until November so she can enjoy Halloween. Next Friday is a follow up with the GP here to find out the results of Emma’s bloodwork. We will then find out the next steps we go to from there.
Emma and I are both drained from all these appointments but we are both so happy to have them being completed and treated with ease. It’s worth it to make sure she has the best health and help she can have. Plus we get Mom and Daughter (and sometimes Dad) alone time together, which is also always awesome!
I have a few things planned for future blog posts but nothing written out yet. Hang in there with me. Right now, I just need to take a few days to rest, watch some movies on tv, maybe read a book and take a break.
Until next time…
Dana
