It’s Friday. The week has been exhausting. I’m looking forward to the weekend with my husband and family.
First, let me say that Holidays should not be mid-week. It throws your whole life off. I’ve seen so many friends who felt that Thursday was a Monday this week. I feel the same way.
Second, I’ve turned off commenting for the blog. The stalker… need I say more? If you wish to comment on a post, you can visit our Facebook page and reach out to me there, where the Stalker is blocked from contacting me.
Thursday, Emma had a doctors appointment with our new physician. I love her! Oh my gosh, she is the best doctor I have ever met. Emma was telling her how she briefly went to public school and she had migraines and seizures from being there (which she did). She told her I took her back out to homeschool her and those things stopped. The doctor told Emma that some kids cannot handle being in public school, that it is too stressful for them and that homeschooling was often better.
I have waited years to find this doctor. I could have hugged her right there. She reassured Emma that we were making the right choices for her health and her education!
The visit went well. She’s a little concerned about Emma’s weight but it’s hard for Emma to lose weight due to her balance issues from her toe-walking. She referred us to several doctors, including an Ortho so we can complete the next steps to treat Emma’s toe-walking corrections. Emma’s scheduled for blood work to check that she’s healthy and see if there’s an underlying cause for her weight issues.
She also, without seeing Emma’s past records yet, made the same suggestion that Emma has an un-diagnosed Sensory Neurological Disorder which can be causing many of her current health concerns. So we will be slowly working to find answers on that for her so that we can find the best treatment to prevent her from returning to toe-walking in the future. Our past neuro also felt this was a reason for her toe-walking so I am pretty excited that our new physician is of the same mind-set on this for Emma.
Between my two girls, we have a ton of appointments being scheduled. Laycie’s EEG and new neurology appointment has been scheduled. I’m hoping for good results for her there. She had blood work redone yesterday and just the stress of it was hard on her. She was exhausted and slurring, barely able to stand straight, both caused by her seizures and her being overly anxious about her blood work. I was really worried a seizure would happen but thankfully she came home, ate and rested and began to feel better after a while.
Well, I am off to enjoy my weekend. I have plans to watch a movie with my Hubs, to help him build a bridge for our yard and to enjoy our family as we always do. Because Luv’N Lambert Life is the BEST when you’re living in Hodge Heaven.
Until Next time…
Dana
