Early this week I had the worst day. Nothing went right. It was just the worst day I’ve had in a while.
Today was so much better. We had our first appointment with our new physician. She’ll be treating the whole family and I’m thankful. She’s possibly the best doctor I have ever found.
We don’t vaccinate due to Laycie’s seizures – they are a definite trigger for her and for Emmalee as well. So for our family, we now don’t vaccinate at all. We’ve experienced physicians in the past who did not agree with us on this. One in particular threatened to contact DSS over the choice despite the fact that it’s a danger for my children. The physician today was extremely supportive of our decision and stated that she would never request us to vaccinate due to Laycie’s history with seizure. I was so impressed by this.
Homeschooling is also sometimes an issue with physicians. But this physician is fully supportive of our educational choice. She stated that homeschooling is the best for my family because of our decision to not vaccinate and our health needs. Another thing I was so truly impressed with.
She was kind and gentle with Laycie. She was super nice and caring. I was thrilled.
She even advised me to switch Jack from Soy to Almond or Rice milk, which I’d been considering lately. Upon checking out, I immediately made an appointment for Emma and we will see the doctor with her next week to set up her referral for orthopedics.
This is a huge stress lifted off my shoulders. I’m thrilled to have an understanding and caring physician who is willing to treat all of my family, particularly the needs of my babies. It’s a blessing to be able to have a doctor who understands our needs and wishes to provide the best care possible for each of them.
