February 16, 2012 by Dana

Aleks: Assessment and LEarning in Knowledge Spaces is an online assessment and education program.  This program assesses a student, places them on a level accurate to their level of knowledge and allows the student to build their skills through online practice.  Student levels remain accurate due to additional testing as a student moves through the program that assesses their skill level as they go.  A student who shows progress in the Aleks program will also show progress in the same courses in their school program.

Aleks programs include over 50 mathematical academic studies from Basic Math to Pre-calculus.  Program levels being at grade 3 and continue through College Level courses.  Bilingual courses are also offered through the Aleks program.  Students using the advanced education programming can be credited through ACE for College.

For homeschoolers, Aleks offers a personalized program for grades 3 and up.  No textbook is required to complete this program.  All materials can be found through the Aleks website.  Aleks also offers Quicktables, a program which concentrates on rote memorization methods for learning the Basic Math Skills of Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division.

Aleks offers a wonderful math program which can fit into any situation from full curriculum to extra practice for the public school student.  This program is available for $19.95 per student per month, $99.95 every six months or $179.95 per year per student.  They also offer a family discount program which can be found here.
